Proper sleep is very vital for any human being and keeps the person in good health physically and mentally. If you sleep well in the night, it will always reflect on you the next day making you feel energetic and look good.
But sleeping is not an easy task and at times you may not be able to sleep properly. At times you may also face irregular sleeps throughout the nights. As per research Gallup in 1991 reported this problem, which is also known as ‘Chronic Insomnia’, to be suffered by 13rd of the American population.
It may be amazing but it is true that the drowsiness caused during daytime is not a harmless part of modern life, rather the indication of sleepless nights, and more importantly, it can be dangerous if not taken care of properly.
Another recent figures report over a quarter of Americans are not able to sleep properly or peacefully. It also states that doctors prescribe over 14 million recommendations for consuming tablets to sleep.
The reasons for this state of sleeping are numerous and may vary. Professor Jim Horne, Sleep Research Laboratory at Loughborough University says that this may be the results of mental conditions like arthritis or rheumatism. He further states that consuming beverages like alcohol, coffee or tea might also cause chemical reactions at times, leading to sleeplessness. This long term or chronic insomnia can be related to anxiety and depression, along with the environmental and surrounding factors.
And lying in the bas, not being able to sleep is often worse than bad dreams.
For a lot many people (approximately nine percent of the American population, a good night’s sleep is like a dream come true. This state of sleep often leads to problems including car accidents, continuous errors at the workplace, and even worse, often resulting in major depression and physical sickness.
There are a number of remedies for this problem for the people who face difficulty in going to sleep or improper sleep. Also for the ones, who are unable to sleep at peace, hypnotic agents are available. However these are effective only for immediate affect and you will have to look for alternatives for long term improvements, which usually involve behavioral therapies. It is always suggested to implement these therapeutic approaches for the person’s short and long term needs.
